Abigail Update

Here's Abigail in her Minnie Mouse costume. Betcha can't tell it's her! How cute is this kid? Abby went to the Preemie Reunion at the hospital in Syracuse where she stayed for nine weeks after she was born.  The doctors are all so proud of her, and we are too! Abigail also had her well-baby checkup last month, and she's doing just great.  She's actually 'on the chart' -- height and weight -- for kids her age (non-adjusted for her preemie status). OK, so she's in the 5th or 7th percentile or so, but she's growing!

What's really got us amazed and excited is her developmental progress. She is just *SO DANG SMART.* She's starting to make little 2 and 3 word sentences. Nana Ryan has a habit of sneezing down her shirt so she doesn't sneeze on the baby, so when Abby saw her do it, she looked at her, and said in that very serious way of hers, "nose, shirt." Jonny Cat also says that they've been practicing counting to 5, and that she scared him last night, because she continued on with, "six, seven, eight." He thinks she may have picked this up on the street... Sesame Street, that is!
