Stormy weather in Abby-land...

the Ryan family learns how to cope with no electricity, no phone, and tornado warnings!

At the risk of sounding like a "Little House on the Prairie" episode... Jon, Amy, the Bean and Penny have been spending *way* too much time in the basement lately. Waves of heavy thunderstorms and tornadoes have been plaguing New York -- and playing havoc with things that we take for granted (like heat, running water, lights, etc.)

Jonathan said that when he dropped the baby off at the sitter on Monday, he said, "Here's my baby, she may be smelly." That was after only one day without hot water -- they didn't get the lights back on until Tuesday night. Of course, then they lost phone service...

Yes, Abby is in day care now, as Amy is back to work. She is getting exposed to all those wonderful kid germs, and promptly came down with a nasty cold. Some concerns over RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) -- but tests aren't back yet. As I said to Nana Ryan -- "it's just a baby thing, not a preemie thing."

Here's a new photo. Isn't she cute!

Abby is 7 months old today, or 4 months age-adjusted. She weighs about 12 pounds, and is about 23" long. She smiles when she hears Mommy's voice, sleeps through the night in her own room, giggles out loud, and puts anything that finds its way into her hand -- you guessed it -- in her mouth.

"Princess Beenaweena" is going back to Syracuse on June 18th for her developmental screening. Mommy says she's a quick study, because Aunt Robin just taught her how to stick out her tongue.
