Forty Days Toward Purpose

What other church could so quickly and graciously respond to enable an up building Lenten series to go from vision to reality in just a few short weeks? The first week five volunteered as guides to lead individual sessions. Several have offered their homes as convenient meeting sites. Others have responded to the call for worship liturgist. And, still others have signed on as hosts and home enablers. Pretty overwhelming! The predominant schedule will be Sunday afternoons 3:30 - 5:00 pm, February 13 through March 13. The Sunday morning adult class will also be a site for these five weeks. Outside reading is not required, although neither is it prohibited. For background reference, the 'guides' are using "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren. However, each session will follow a discussion outline published a week ahead in our Newsletter. More homes, leaders, readers and hosts would still be helpful. Just call the office to let us know of your willingness to help. This is going to be a great experience of life empowering spiritual formation. Thanks for your interest. I hope you will be a part. MD

Jump-Starting Renewal!

Ashes, Ashes we all kneel down! Yes we're starting early. We can't wait! It's the beginning of the magnificent moment in the Christian life when God gives a second chance! Days are lighter longer. Easter (March 27!) sets the terminus. And, the hunger for renewal is at its peak. We're ready for new start. Ash Sunday 2/6 Communion & ashes in the Chapel is 9AM. Then it's off to Emmanuel for FOCUS worship at 10AM. Lent begins! Trinity is eager to use Lent's forty days to strengthen faith & clarify purpose. Seize the time!

Movie Mania

Strong turnout for "Shrek II" & "The Passion" at Trinity's first Friday Night at the Movies!...just encouraged more. What are we seeing next month? The discussion continues but the date is set. Friday, February 25th we'll do it again. Bring friends and munchies to share. Call in your pick to 463-1293.

ZIPS on January-February Break

Embracing the Past To Claim the Future

February is Black History Month celebrating human origins and the heroic African Diaspora through which we in Albany are so greatly blessed. While the King Holiday and observances have set the stage, February will be filled with special emphasis and ways of learning and celebrating our valued history & treasured present. Special dates on the enclosed calendar and Albany events, will help us to embrace our past and claim our figure.

Purpose Powered

Trying to schedule a moment with a Trinity student proved impossible He was in exam prep mode. "Perhaps a moment before worship." "Okay." His purpose is academic. This is a test! And, he needed to be ready. There is empowerment in clarity of purpose, and a certain aimlessness when purpose is unclear. Our Lenten Study offers opportunity to rediscover the power of purpose in our calendar for session info.
