FOCUS
Churches
Trinity is part
of a multi-church
consortium providing community ministry to residents in the Lark Street
- Center Square area.
For over thirty
years, FOCUS
has evolved to provide outreach and community services to the Center
Square
neighborhood of Albany.
"Interpreting
our common
ministry" involves volunteers in the basic issues of food and shelter
for
individuals and families in crisis.
The Breakfast
Program at
Westminster brings community and homeless people together during Fall
and
Winter months.
The Focus
Interfaith Food
Pantry housed at Trinity enjoys the additional support of United Fourth
Presbyterian, Temple Beth Emeth, First Unitarian and St. Andrew's
Episcopal.
FOCUS
"spin-offs" include
the Eighth Step Coffee House, CROP Walk, and Albany Area Housing
Opportunities.
Close to the
"halls of power"
and surrounded by human need, FOCUS serves as an advocate for the poor
and homeless, blending common sense with compassion, recognizing
spiritual
and physical needs.
To lead we must
first serve.
Call the FOCUS office (at Emmanuel Baptist Church) - 465-8781 to learn
more about our mission and opportunities for service.
