CRITERIA: The selection committee will review applications based on the criteria that follows. The individual criteria will be evaluated for each applicant, utilizing a point system. The maximum number of criteria points an applicant can receive is 200.

Parish/Church Service	0 - 75 Points
Community Service	0 - 50 Points
Extracurricular Activities	0 - 25 Points
Applicant Statement	0 - 50 Points

ELIGIBILITY: Any member of St. Madeleine Sophie Parish who will graduate from high school between July 1, 2007 and June 30, 2008, and will begin post high school study within six months, may apply for consideration. Issuance of the award will occur only after verification of the recipient's acceptance at an accredited institution is received. This institution may be a college or university, business school, technical school, etc. Military service academies are specifically excluded.

AWARDING PROCESS: All applications will be reviewed by a selection committee, and evaluated in terms of the criteria shown above. The process is designed to insure anonymity: each application will be coded, and will have the applicant's name deleted from the main body of the application. Family members of potential candidates are not eligible to serve on the selection committee.
