Spinning
CBRC will continue its preseaon training program in 2004
by hosting the fourth annual spinning sessions at the Albany ARC
gym. Spinning gives all area cyclists the opportunity to train
(or at least shed a few holiday pounds) with fellow cyclists looking
to develop some lungs by the time April rolls around. Instuctors
Ian Bielby and Andy Ruiz will provide "expert" workouts,
complete with videos and a jammin' hi-fi sound system.
Spinning begins Tuesday, January 13 and will be held each Tuesday
and Thursday through March. Class is from 6 - 7 pm, but riders may
arrive at 5:30 to set up. Cost is $3 per class, or $20 per month.
The gym has bathrooms, but no showers.
Riders must supply their own bike, trainer, and towel or mat to
protect the floor. A heart rate monitor is recommended. Each participant
must sign a waiver. (Only one is required for the whole indoor season.)
The Albany ARC is on Krumkill Road. From 1-90, take exit 4 (Route
85 West) to Krumkill Road. Make a right on Krumkill. The ARC is on the
left. From the Northway, turn left onto Western Ave., then immediately
right onto Schoolhouse Rd. At the end of Schoolhouse, turn left onto
Krumkill. The ARC is on the right. Park at the day treatment entrance
next to the vans on the opposite side of the building from Blessing Rd.
